A Devon Air Ambulance Night Landing Site has been installed in a field on a farm in East Putford, the project being managed by the Parish Council and with the kind co-operation of the farmer Nigel Moulder, who is a Parish Councillor, and his family.

The site was officially made available for operation on Wednesday 30 June, 2021 by the Devon Air Ambulance Community Development Site Landing Officer, Toby Russell who gave a demonstration to those present.
The picture shows Parish Councillors and members of the public, some of whom were connected with the Putford Post who gave financial assistance to the project with Toby Russell on the right. A grant was also given by the Devon Air Ambulance and further funding was received from District Councillors Bob Hicks and Philip Pennington's Torridge District Council District Councillor Grant allocation.

The Parish Council is grateful to everyone who has supported this venture and helped to make it possible. Being in the East of the Parish, it can also serve Parkham, pending the Planning Application for its own Night Landing Site being granted.

This potentially life saving facility in a remote part of the Torridge District Council area is a valuable asset and whilst it is hoped it will never have to be used, the arrangements are now in place should it be necessary for a patient to be airlifted, especially during the hours of darkness, to receive swift attention and the best possible treatment available to them.
